Don't be fooled, check the label!

Using my blog as a voice to rant today!  Inspired by an email I've just seen, I have always had a thing about garment compositions.  I blame my parents entirely as they sent me out to work at a young age (sob...) and my first Saturday job was at a handbag and leather shop, need I say more, the obsession began.  Hence I have a thing about leather, always have, always will, I don't like plastic!

I just don't get it, top end High Street companies selling a sandal for £40, down to £15 in the sale, bargain I think.  I look into them further, plastic!  No other word for it, lets not big it up with fancy words, it is plastic!  Then you have lower end High Street selling leather sandals yearly for as little as £12 in the sale (less sometimes).  Why use man made on a higher end brand which wont last as long, look cheaper and ultimately are worse for our feet - you've guessed it, pennies!  It infuriates me that brands think they can use their name to sell, but then judging by the thousands of shoes left in their sale, buying cheep materials (buy cheep, buy twice!) obviously hasn't upped their sales.  I can't tarnish everyone with the same brush but it is just getting more common, and lets face it, if New Look and Primark can use a natural material like leather, why on earth can't more brand heavy names do the same?

Be careful people, make sure you check the the labels carefully, look after those feet of yours, you only get one pair!

Clashing Brights & Miu Miu

Well my Topshop green dress finally got it's outing.  I really enjoyed wearing such a bright colour compared to my usual staple of neutrals.  It must have been the sun's influence as I decided to throw in a second bold colour of coral/orange on my nails.  Following through with the black zip up the back, seen in the pictures here from my previous post, I added black shoes, stud rose earrings, necklace and clutch.  I received some lovely compliments on my colour choice, so I will definitely be venturing into some brights again soon.

Discovery from recent trying on session's - new bra's needed!  Putting it off again as probably the only item I hate shopping for (yes, there actually is something I dislike shopping for) but they are so old and shapeless and I need to practice what I preach about the foundations to any good outfit.  Wish me luck!

My Cambridge Satchel!

Well, I am not sure why I've taken so long to share this with you, maybe because I've been too busy using it (or the truth be told, I wanted to give it a fair run first and the school holidays has seen me out and about everywhere so it's had it's share of trips!).  I am majorly in love!  The colour is antique gold and I bought the 11" classic size.  In different lights it can be gold, bronze, greeny copper, it literally goes with everything.  I was a little worried about the size but it is just perfect on me, enough for my purse, phone, lippy & keys.  Having not been able to use my handbag collection much for the last 6 months (baby bag is so big it covers us all), it's been so nice to feel like I have my own little bit of me back in the form of my own bag.

I found the service brilliant, it arrived in less than 48 hours, and I managed to get at 50% off thanks to the Today Show promo!  The leather smells amazing and is well made and stitched.  I love that you can have them made personal with the initials.  I went for the blind script option.  They currently have a Summer sale so go grab a British made bargain handbag!

Oh what the hell, it's too hot to hit the shops so I'm dreaming and trawling the internet instead!  Moody baby day so we haven't been out (one day she will appreciate the waste of a beautiful day!) and to be honest, I have neglected the legs again so they weren't ready to be seen in daylight anyway.  Here are some of my fab finds.  Thankfully a gift voucher from Debenhams has worked it's way to me so I feel some shoes and a few years too late the Chanel Particuliere nail polish being ordering......I think I need to get out more.....

Future Wish List

What with being on a roll recently with my shopping habbit and actually finding items I have been looking for for a while, I am taking a back seat to take stock (nothing to do with the bank statement of course) of what I have and need.  After my blog Wardrobe Maintenance I had a huge clear out but didn't tackle the jeans drawer as I wanted to do it at a later date post baby.  This now needs to be done and some more order restored to the wardrobe.  I like to move things around as often as I can to refresh my clothes and remind me what I have.  I am not saying I have an abundance but we all get stuck with grabbing what is safe and easy to put on, especially when children are involved.

However, I wouldn't be me if I didn't have my eye on a few items....a denim jacket.  Now I have never really been a massive fan as personally I just don't think I ever really found one that suited me.  It seems to be a item that is in many a celeb wardrobe, especially where maxi's are concerned.  Being of the shorter variety I am not a maxi fan (although I love the style just not on me) but I do wear a lot of tunics which I think one could work just as well with.  Once budget and searching time allows, I will be on the hunt!  In the mean time, here are a few of my favourite's so far!
